About
I have grown up loving food – all types.
I love my traditional konkani delicacies as much as I love authentic paella and take-out pizzas. Food has been the central point in my life for as long as I can remember
I love my traditional konkani delicacies as much as I love authentic paella and take-out pizzas. Food has been the central point in my life for as long as I can remember.
First my constant struggle with weight has made me obsess about my meals, I moved to India from the US at a time when no one had heard of marinara or humus – my diet changed drastically and I missed my American burgers. My teenage daughter became near anorexic at the same time my young son developed a heart condition where his cholesterol had to be kept low. One child I had to urge to eat, the other I had to set limits.
I studied nutrition to learn more about food. I did not have to shift my focus from journalism to nutrition, they were complementary disciplines. My private practice helps me in my writing and vice versa. My philosophy is to cook the foods you like with simple local ingredients.
